Thank you John. I found this writing to be a very gorgeous gift. I am reminded of a talk by Quaker teacher, Palmer Parker. After much dedicated contemplative work he found himself plunged into the deepest despairs of depression. He asked an elderly Catholic nun what was going on. She told him that the closer we get to the light the closer we get to the darkness. I have seen this occur many times including within my self. It is a very difficult and counterintuitive lesson to learn to embrace both the light and the darkness but perhaps God is both of these.
